There is a unique kind of magic in the Pacific Northwest during the summer — the kind that brings neighbors together under clear skies to celebrate local creativity, shared stories, and the natural beauty surrounding us.
This August, The Blended Oasis is so honored to join our Bainbridge Island community for the Rolling Bay Summer Market. Beyond being a vibrant local gathering filled with makers, vintage treasures, and food, this market carries a deeply meaningful purpose at its heart.
Supporting Local Wildlife & Community Connection
If you’ve spent any time on the island or across Kitsap County, you know how special our local ecosystem is. The Rolling Bay Market is co-hosted by three incredible partners who make a huge impact in our area:
-
West Sound Wildlife Shelter: For over 35 years, this nonprofit has provided essential rescue, medical treatment, and rehabilitation for injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife across the Puget Sound region. From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Summer Market, they will be bringing their education wildlife ambassadors — giving kids and adults an up-close, inspiring look at the animals we share this land with.
-
Wild Bird Mercantile: More than just a charming shop for secondhand finds and vintage home decor, the Mercantile serves as a community-powered fundraiser located right behind the church. Every item purchased directly supports the life-saving care at West Sound Wildlife Shelter.
-
Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church: Generously hosting the event in their parking lot, creating a warm, welcoming space for neighbors to gather, shop local, and stay connected.
When you shop at events like this, you aren't just supporting local small businesses — you are directly helping give native wildlife a second chance at life.

Crafting Art Beyond the Surface: Capturing Memories & Pastimes
At The Blended Oasis, my work has always been about far more than just wood, laser engraving, or epoxy resin inlays. While laser cutting and resin are the physical mediums I use to bring ideas to life, the true heart of what I do comes from a love of storytelling.
Every custom piece begins with a memory, a favorite pastime, or a feeling:
-
Tapping into personal experiences: Transforming a cherished family spot, a favorite hike through PNW greens, or a beloved coastal scene into a tangible keepsake.
-
Creative thinking & resourcefulness: Pulling at heartstrings by taking subtle details — a handwritten recipe, a family milestone, or a shared hobby — and thinking outside the box to design something truly original.
-
Turning emotion into functional art: Creating custom serving boards, wall art, and heirloom gifts that evoke a reaction every time you see or use them.
Art is about capturing human connection. Mediums like laser precision and rich resin colors are simply the tools used to frame those moments.
